A pilot survey of biodiversity was initiated at the end of 2019 by the participation of taxonomic experts from several universities of the state of São Paulo. The objective is to provide a baseline for designing a full study on the impact of land use land cover type on the taxonomic and phylogenetic composition of plant and animal communities and ecosystem function. The pilot study compares the occurrence and abundance of several groups of animal and plant species in native montane forest, Pinus plantation and open shrubby grassland.
