Forest and open vegetation types change over sharp boundaries in the Park and form a varied landscape. The variation results from natural diversity in physiography and it is partly attributable to the legacy of past and current land use. The main interest of this project is to establish the use of habitat / association of bird species with habitats and the seasonal changes in bird abundances. In terms of broader relevance, it is expected that the results will contribute to wildlife conservation management as well as to managing tourism. The project is designed to detect changes in the diversity and abundance of of bird species over the medium to long term, with an initial work programme over two years (2021 - 2023).
